Donbas law specifies Minsk accords, but doesn't contradict them - MP Tymchuk
The law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on securing the sovereignty of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas does not contradict the Minsk agreements, on the contrary - clarifies them, member of the parliamentary committee on national security and defense issues, People's Front faction deputy Dmytro Tymchuk has said.
"In my opinion, it absolutely cannot influence the course of the Minsk process and in no way contradicts the provisions of the Minsk agreements," Tymchuk said in a commentary to Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.
The MP added that the Minsk agreements, in particular, referred to foreign troops, which should be withdrawn from the territory of Ukraine. According to the parliamentarian, the Verkhovna Rada specifies the law adopted, which troops are involved in the Minsk agreements - the Russian occupation troops.
"This law does not simply contradict, but intertwines and clarifies the Minsk agreements," Tymchuk said.
