Rada doesn't include denunciation of treaty with Russia in Donbas bill
Ukrainian Rada deputies did not support a proposal to include in the bill on ensuring state sovereignty in temporarily occupied territories of Donbas an amendment invalidating the treaty on friendship, cooperation and partnership with Russia.
Author of the amendment, member of the Samopomych faction Olena Sotnyk insisted that the deputies vote to confirm her proposal, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
The relevant Verkhovna Rada committee had earlier rejected the amendment.
Deputies also refused to support Sotnik's initiative. It received fewer than 226 votes, the minimum necessary for its adoption.
The amendment provided for including in the bill a provision that would instruct the government to elaborate and submit to the parliament within a month after the law takes effect a bill invalidating the treaty on friendship, cooperation, and partnership with Russia
