President sees in New Year at home, visits Maldives at his own expense
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko saw in the New Year at home, spent several days in Ivano-Frankivsk region and made a private trip to the Maldives, the press service of the head of state has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"We inform you that the president saw in the New Year 2018 with his family at home. He spent several days at the Huta state residence in Ivano-Frankivsk region," the presidential press service told the news agency on Tuesday, January 16, in response to an information request.
The press service also reported that Poroshenko had made a private trip to the Maldives "with a view to a short rest."
"He paid for this trip he paid from his own account of declared funds, which will be reflected in his electronic declaration," the reply says.
"The decision that information about these trips will be made public post factum was made in advance, for reasons of security," the press service said.
