Arms supplies to Donbas will unlikely help resolve conflict - German foreign minister
Germany is skeptical about the fact that weapons provided by the United States by Ukraine will help resolve the situation in Donbas, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel has said.
"If there is one thing there is too much of in this region, that is weapons. Germany is rather skeptical about the fact that arms supplies can help resolve the conflict. However, we are still far enough from this conflict, and we, as a country, are in safety, but Ukraine sees this in a different way, from the defense point of view," Gabriel said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in Kyiv on Wednesday, January 3, when asked about the provision of U.S. lethal weapons to Ukraine.
