Saakashvili to visit SBU for questioning on Dec 26
Mikheil Saakashvili, leader of the Movement of New Forces party and former president of Georgia, was summoned to visit the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Kyiv for questioning at 11:00 a.m. on December 26, his lawyer Pavlo Bogomazov told Interfax.
"We have received a summons to visit a senior investigator with the SBU Main Directorate in Kyiv at 11:00 a.m. on December 26 for questioning," Bogomazov said.
The lawyer said Saakashvili intends to arrive for the questioning.
According to earlier reports, Saakashvili was summoned to the SBU for questioning on Friday, December 22, but his lawyers asked the SBU to reschedule this investigative action to a different day because Saakashvili needed to attend a hearing of the Kyiv Court of Appeals on December 22.
On December 22, the Kyiv Court of Appeals rescheduled the hearing of the prosecutors appeal against the decision made by the Kyiv Pechersky District Court declining to put Saakashvili under house arrest to January 3, 2018.
