NACP invites head of food safety service for explanations about joining UCAB in 2015-2017

The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) has invited Head of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa to provided explanations on his membership of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) in 2015-2017, according to the agency's website.

Lapa, while holding executive positions in central executive government bodies, that is, being a person authorized to perform the functions of the state, in the period from April 26, 2015 to May 30, 2017, did not quit the board of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club and did not give up the powers of the head of the commission on liquidating this society.

NACP established that such actions violate Provision 2, Part 1, Article 25 of the law on preventing corruption, which foresees a ban on joining the board, the supervisory board of an enterprise that aims to make a profit.

The specified action contains signs of an administrative offense related to corruption, the accountability for which is envisaged in Part 2, Article 172-4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine.

Lapa should arrive at NACP on December 21, 2017 from 10.00
