Poroshenko invites Portuguese president to visit Ukraine
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has invited his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to visit Ukraine.
"I am grateful to the president of Portugal for inviting me to visit the country, the first official visit of the head of the Ukrainian state over the past decade. I was pleased to invite Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to visit Ukraine in the near future and continue our fruitful dialogue," Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page Monday.
According to the press service of the Ukrainian president, Poroshenko and his wife, Maryna, arrived at the Belem Palace, where they were met by the Portuguese president.
An official meeting ceremony took place, and the anthems of Ukraine and Portugal were played. The heads of state inspected a Guard of Honor.
