Court to continue hearing of Yanukovych treason case on Dec 20
Kyiv's Obolonsky District Court will continue to consider a criminal proceeding on high treason charges against former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Wednesday, December 20, at 14.00.
According to an Interfax-Ukraine reporter, at a session on Thursday, December 14, the court completed the examination of video materials and written evidence provided by the defense team.
Next week, the court will start to question witnesses. Presiding Judge Vladyslav Deviatko invited prosecutors to ensure the appearance of two witnesses on December 20 and four witnesses for a hearing on December 21.
On December 14, Yanukovych's lawyer, Vitaliy Serdiuk, and his colleague, Andriana Fozekosh, provided the court with video materials and written evidence of the defense team.
As reported, former Ukrainian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Yuriy Serheyev, former Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Interior Minister Arsen Avakov have already been interrogated earlier as a result of certain changes in the procedure for the consideration of the case.
