Lutsenko hopes for special confiscation of at least UAH 5 bln from Yanukovych's entourage next year
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has said he hopes for a special confiscation of at least UAH 5 billion in 2018 as the funds that were stolen by the entourage of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych from the country's budget.
"Next year, we will continue a special confiscation... We are planning to seize several billion [hryvnias] of other funds of an organized criminal group led by Yanukovych," he said on the HARD program on the ZIK television channel late on Wednesday, December 13.
He specified that the issue concerned about UAH 5 billion.
"There will again be 1.5 billion [hryvnias] in the hands of the state and the government... And I will demand that the government assume commitment and political responsibility so that all the funds can reach the people next year," Lutsenko said.
