Ex-SBU chief Nalyvaichenko fined for illegal border crossing
Spravedlyvist (Justice) Party leader and former Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Valentyn Nalyvaichenko has been fined for illegally crossing the state border at the Shehyni checkpoint in Lviv region on September 10 this year.
The decision to fine Nalyvaichenko UAH 3,400 was made by the Mostyska District Court in Lviv region at a session on Friday, December 8, the court's press service told Interfax-Ukraine. At the same time, Nalyvaichenko has the right to challenge the decision.
As reported, People's Front deputy and adviser to Ukraine's interior minister Anton Gerashchenko said that five Ukrainian MPs and Nalyvaichenko had illegally crossed Ukraine's state border together with the leader of the New Forces Movement political party, ex-head of Odesa Regional State Administration, Mikheil Saakashvili.
Nalyvaichenko said that the authorities had prevented Ukrainian citizens from crossing the state border in a lawful way.
