The number of ceasefire violations in the conflict area in Donbas remains high, the OSCE Special Envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Ukraine, Martin Sajdik, said.
According to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM), the number of ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine remains at a very high level, Sajdik told reporters following the TCG meeting in Minsk on Tuesday.
In this connection, the security of civilians and the observance of the ceasefire were again high on the agenda, he said.
TCG members highlighted the need for a strict observance of ceasefire. This is especially important in areas near civilian facilities, Sajdik said.
Furthermore, the sides committed again to security guarantees while wooden structures at a checkpoint in Stanytsia Luhanska are repaired on December 9-10, he said. This border checkpoint will be closed on those days, Sajdik said.
