OSCE calls for ensuring unimpeded operation of NewsOne TV Channel
Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Representative on Freedom of the Media Harlem Desir has called on Ukrainian authorities to do all they can to ensure the safe working environment for the employees of the NewsOne TV channel and its unimpeded operations.
"Obstructing access to the news channel's office is direct interference in its work and physical intimidation of media workers. It is an unacceptable situation and an attack on the freedom of the media which cannot be justified," the OSCE quoted Desir as saying in a statement on Monday.
Any pressure on media, not to mention their blockage, is unacceptable, he said.
