Ukrainian, U.S. Navies conduct joint drills in Black Sea in line with NATO standards
The Ukrainian Navy has conducted joint exercises of the PASSEX-type with the U.S. Navy destroyer James Williams, the press center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has reported.
On December 2, the Black Sea Naval Forces of Ukraine together with the destroyer of the U.S. Navy James Williams conducted a PASSEX-type training. Two Ukrainian Ka-27 helicopters were taken from the Ukrainian Navy," Navy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in its report on Facebook on Saturday.
It is noted that the purpose of the event was to work out cooperation with the ships of partner countries in accordance with NATO standards, increase the level of compatibility and deepen cooperation.
"During the training, the helicopters of the naval aviation of the Ukrainian Navy in complicated meteorological conditions worked, in particular, elements of landing on the deck of the American ship." In addition, the training participants conducted air defense exercises in accordance with NATO standards," the press center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said.
