European Council to decide on sanctions against Russia in Dec – Presidential Administration
The European Council will make a political decision on extending sanctions against Russia in December 2017, Deputy Head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration Kostiantyn Yeliseyev has said.
"Now only the lazy person did not criticize the Minsk agreements, but there is no other instrument for the return of territorial integrity to Ukraine... A political decision should be made at a summit of the European Council in December as to what to do next with EU sanctions against Russia. The president is actively working to ensure that these sanctions were at least extended, if not strengthened," he said on Ukraine's Channel 5 on Tuesday.
Yeliseyev noted that the sanctions were linked to the implementation of the Minsk agreements by Russia.
