Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip have confirmed mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two states amid existing challenges and threats.
"The prime minister of Moldova welcomed the appointment of Ukraine's special representative for Transdniestria settlement and the beginning of his active work," the presidential press service reported on Friday, November 24.
Poroshenko and Filip discussed the implementation of bilateral agreements in the field of cross-border cooperation. They praised cooperation in the introduction of common border and customs controls in a number of checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border.
They also discussed cooperation in the sphere of European integration in the context of the agenda of the Eastern Partnership summit.
The meeting was held in Brussels on November 24.
