Judicial reform, fight against corruption to help Ukraine attract foreign investors - Juncker
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has said that the successful holding of judicial reform and the fight against corruption will help Ukraine attract foreign investment.
"The necessary reforms are needed to strengthen effective governance and fight corruption... We need to ensure the proper functioning of the systems of judicial bodies and public administrations. If the judicial reform and the fight against corruption are carried out successfully, it will strengthen investor confidence throughout the region," he said at a press conference following the Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels on Friday, November 24.
He noted the EU's readiness to continue to provide financial support to Ukraine if it meets certain conditions in conducting reforms.
According to Juncker, mutual trade between Ukraine and the EU grew by 27% between January and August.
