Association with EU is roadmap for Ukraine's reforms, which is fulfilled only by 15% - Poroshenko
The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union is a roadmap for reforms needed by Ukraine, but much work remains to be done in this area, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"The Association Agreement with the EU is a roadmap for our reforms, and once we had ratified it, it became our task. So far, only 15% of it has been fulfilled and we have a lot of work to do, including in parliament," he said during a trip to Dnipro on Monday.
Speaking about Ukraine's European integration, Poroshenko said: "We don't need to ask whether we will be accepted into the EU or not. According to Article 49, Ukraine has the right to an EU membership, but we must meet the criteria, and this depends only on us."
According to the president, the worst events of recent years are already behind. "Step by step, our country is already returning to economic growth and social development," he stressed.
