Three Ukrainian soldiers have died after carelessly handling furnace equipment at a base in the Anti-Terrorist operation (ATO) zone in Donbas, the ATO headquarters said in a statement on Monday.
"There has been an accident at a military base accomplishing combat missions in the Donetsk sector [...] Three servicemen died on November 19. According to preliminary information, the accident resulted from the careless handing of furnace equipment," the headquarters wrote on its Facebook page.
The causes and details of the accident are being investigated, it said. A military-police task force and representatives of the military prosecution service are working on the scene. A criminal case has been opened and an inquiry launched, the headquarters said.
