Balance needed between police response to explosives and observing protester rights – Avakov
Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov emphasizes the need to balance the tough reaction of the police to the storage of explosive items and the observance of the rights of protesters.
"Any information on weapons or explosives is certainly verified. And if such things are found there, there will be no dawdling, because it is a potentially high threat," Avakov said on the air of the 'Pravo na Vladu' (Right to Power) program on the 1 + 1 TV channel overnight into Friday.
"There must be a balance of rights and a balance of responsibility, where we can act tougher to prevent such things, and where it is necessary to observe the rights," Avakov said.
