Ukrainian, Norwegian defense ministers discuss cooperation, peacekeepers in Donbas
Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has informed his Norwegian counterpart Frank Bakke-Jensen about Kyiv's position regarding the deployment of a UN peacekeeping force to Donbas.
The press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday that the meeting between the two ministers took place during the UN Peacekeeping Defense Ministerial conference in Vancouver, Canada.
"The issues of deepening bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting, and Ukraine's position regarding the possibility of using UN peacekeeping missions in Donbas was highlighted," the report says.
Bakke-Jensen also accepted Poltorak's invitation to visit Ukraine next year.
