Trump, Putin mention Ukraine during APEC summit in Vietnam
Presidents of the United States and Russian Federation, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, mentioned Ukraine on the margins of the APEC summit in Vietnam, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"Ukraine was voiced. It was stated that the situation is complicated, but there was no detailed discussion," he said.
As reported, the presidents of Russia and the U.S. met at the APEC summit in Vietnam late on Friday during the photographing ceremony.
Trump approached the Russian president, and the two leaders shook hands and exchanged greetings. The U.S. president patted his Russian colleague on the shoulder, an Interfax correspondent reported.
After this brief communication, the presidents went to the reception. The presidents of Russia and the United States attended the event separately.
