Putin, Trump reaffirm determination to defeat ISIS in Syria
The presidents of Russia and the United States have declared their determination to defeat ISIS (aka ISIL, or Islamic State, a terrorist organization banned in Russia) in Syria.
"President Trump and President Putin today, meeting on the margins of the APEC conference in Danang, Vietnam, confirmed their determination to defeat ISIS in Syria," the two presidents said in a joint statement they adopted following a meeting in Vietnam.
