Ukraine, U.S. to conduct overflight of Russia before year's end

Ukraine and the U.S. intend to conduct a reconnaissance flight over Russia with the aim of monitoring military activity.

"This year Ukraine was able to conduct a joint reconnaissance flight with Canada, the U.S. and Sweden over Russian territory. One more flight with the U.S. is planned this year," chief of the verification directorate of the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces Andriy Gudz said during a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday .

According to Gudz, pursuant to the Treaty on Open Skies, Russia has enough time to conceal its forces and military equipment.
