SBU denies intention to investigate involvement of NABU, SAPO employees in state treason
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) refutes information about the alleged opening of an operative-search case on detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) to investigate their involvement in high treason.
"This information is not true," SBU spokesperson Olena Hytlianska told Interfax-Ukraine agency on Monday, commenting on media reports that the SBU allegedly opened an operational case on detectives of the NABU and SAPO prosecutors in order to investigate their involvement in the state treason.
Earlier, the media, referring to their own sources, reported that the case was launched after the NABU and SAPO conducted a special operation to detain the persons involved in the corruption scandal at the Defense Ministry.
