Energy Ministry promises to repay over UAH 500 mln wage arrears to miners by Nov

Repayment of wage arrears to miners of state mines, which now exceeds UAH 500 million, will begin on October 20 and should be completed by the end of this month, Deputy Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Anatoliy Korzun has said.

"More than monthly funds will be paid today and on Monday. And all the debts that remain will paid next week," he said during the "Hour of the Government" in the Verkhovna Rada.

Korzun noted the government approved the mechanism for such repayment two weeks ago, and part of the funds will be provided through the sale of products.

In response to criticism of the non-availability in the government draft national budget for 2018 of an article on the partial coverage of costs for the value of finished products at state-owned coal enterprises, the expert said the work on the issue is continuing.
