Kyiv is grateful to the authorities of Malta for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and independence, as well as for extending sanctions against Russia, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.
"We are grateful to Malta for continuing the sanctions against the Russian Federation in connection with the annexation of Crimea and the aggression in the east of our state," Poroshenko said during a meeting with Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca in Kyiv on Tuesday.
He stressed that Malta has always supported Ukraine's sovereignty and independence and remains a reliable partner.
"We felt your support both at the bilateral level, and within the framework of the European Union, within the framework of the UN," Poroshenko said.
