Poroshenko, Trump discuss various issues of security cooperation

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that during a meeting with U.S. counterpart Donald Trump in New York they discussed every issue related to the security sector.

"It is very important that we have a common vision of a new quality of cooperation on security issues, and we've discussed in detail every area for expanding this cooperation, starting with cooperation with the West-Point military academy and ending with the cooperation with the U.S. Defense Department and other institutions," Poroshenko told reporters after his meeting with Trump in New York on Thursday.

At the same time, the Ukrainian president noted that the meeting lasted for about an hour and was very productive.

"We felt the true shoulder of our friend and partner, and I can say that as president, am very happy with the current level of cooperation, which is unprecedented," Poroshenko stressed.
