SBU invites Medvedchuk to testify about illegal border crossing by officials during 2014-15
Ukraine's SBU Security Service has asked leader of Ukrainian Choice – Right of the People movement Viktor Medvedchuk to testify about illegal border crossings by officials during 2014 and 2015.
"We want to hear what Medvedchuk says, of course. We have invited him to testify," SBU investigative department chief Hryhoriy Ostafiychuk said following the interrogation of Spravedlyvist (Justice) Party head Valentyn Nalyvaichenko.
"We want to hear from Medveduk. Very much. Let me use this opportunity to invite him to come to us," he said.
"The SBU's main investigations directorate is investigating a criminal case pursuant to Part 2 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal border crossing)…." The suspected illegal border crossings involved officials crossing Ukraine's borders during 2014 and 2015.
Medvedchuk is suspected of flying from Ukraine to Russia without passing through border service and customs controls.
