Border guards were instructed not to use weapons at Shehyni checkpoint
The Ukrainian border guards did not use weapons during the events at the Shehyni checkpoint, where former Georgian President, ex-governor of Odesa region Mikheil Saakashvili and his supporters crossed the border, as they received an order in advance not to use force, as a peaceful action had been planned, Ukrainian State Border Service head's assistant Oleh Slobodian said.
"Journalists ask why the border guards did not use weapons. My reply: the border guards were ordered not to use weapons and physical means, because the rally was "peaceful," Slobodian wrote on his Facebook page.
