Mikheil Saakashvili, the Rukh Novykh Syl party leader and the former Odesa regional administration head, whose supporters have led him through the Shehyni checkpoint on the Polish-Ukrainian border, says that he is heading to Lviv.
"Today we will meet in Lviv, probably, in the closest city and will make a decision," Saakashvili said on air of NewsOne television on Sunday, when asked whether he plans to "go further to Kyiv."
Saakashvili was stripped of Ukrainian citizenship in July by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's decree. He later stated his intention to return to Ukraine on September 10.
On Sunday, his supporters have broken through the Ukrainian law enforcers' cordon at the Shehyni checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish state border and have led the politician into the territory of Ukraine.
