U.S. to help Ukraine create POW recovery system

Specialists of Joint Agency on recovery of personnel of armed forces of the U.S. will help create a psychological support system in Ukraine for servicemen who were held hostage, captured or tortured, as well as for members of their families.

This was stated by Deputy Director of the Joint Agency Barbara Trenker during a visit to the 27th separate brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine on Tuesday, the National Guard of Ukraine reported.

As noted, during September 5 and September 6, specialists will conduct training for more than 40 psychologists of the National Guard, the Armed Forces, the State Emergencies Service and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

"In several next few days, we will work in Ukraine on questions of reintegration of such persons which were in captivity, have undergone compulsory isolation or have undergone tortures. And we are glad that we have a prospect of partner cooperation in the future with the Ukrainian side," representative Trenker said.
