Poroshenko announces agreement on more coordinated work of OSCE SMM in Donbas
An agreement has been reached to coordinate the work of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission (OSCE SMM) in Donbas, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"We have agreed on more coordinated work of the OSCE SMM. We are not satisfied when OSCE monitors arrive at 9 a.m., leave at 6 p.m. and shelling then [continues] all night long," Poroshenko said while visiting the town of Pokrovsk, where he attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at three schools in Pokrovsk, Chasiv Yar and Druzhkivka, all in Donetsk region.
He recalled the Ukrainian initiative, the so-called school-year truce beginning on August 25, declaring a "tough ceasefire." The Ukrainian armed forces have not sustained combat losses for three straight days, the president said.
"We have not had heavy weaponry attacks for three days now," Poroshenko said.
