German envoy for decentralization to visit Ukraine next week
Professor Georg Milbradt, the German government's special envoy for reforms, in particular in the field of governance and decentralization, will visit Ukraine on August 14-19, the German Embassy in Ukraine reported.
"At an invitation of the president of Ukraine, the federal government managed to engage retired prime minister Mr. Milbradt as a special envoy for reforms in Ukraine, in particular in the area of governance and decentralization. As a consultant in Ukraine and other countries, Professor Milbradt has many years of experience in this area," the embassy said in a statement.
The German Embassy noted that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko addressed all G7 member states to provide their envoys to assist reforms in Ukraine in seven selected areas of reform.
Professor Milbradt's mandate is designed for a year.
