Price for aggression should be increased - Poroshenko on U.S. Congress decision on sanctions against Russia
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has called the decision of the U.S. Congress on sanctions against Russia important.
"An important decision of the U.S. Congress regarding sanctions against Russia with powerful bipartisan support. The price for aggression must be increased!" he wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.
On Tuesday the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress voted for a bill providing for additional sanctions against Russia, as well as sanctions against Iran and the DPRK.
"Some 419 congressmen voted "for", three opposed. Voting took place according to a procedure providing for the support of at least two thirds of the members of the Chamber (290 out of 435).
Now the sanction bill will be submitted back to the Senate for voting. If adopted, the bill will be signed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
