Kyiv accuses Russia of impeding Contact Group's security subgroup
Russia is preventing the security subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Donbas from doing its work, Ukraine's representative in the subgroup, Yevhen Marchuk, said.
"Effectively we are going round in circles. The Russian side has practically thwarted any evolution even on those issues where we used to have mutual interests," Marchuk said on Channel 5 on Friday.
Among such issues is the demining of vital facilities "on the frontline or on the contact line where you have a water reservoir on one side, and consumers on that and other side," Marchuk said.
Not only the latest meeting of the subgroup, which was 61st, but "at least five previous" ones, are not adding optimism, the Ukrainian representative said.
"Russia has been dragging out five or six rounds now," Marchuk said.
