Nine Ukrainian soldiers killed, five wounded in ATO zone in Donbas over past day
According to preliminary data, nine servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been killed and another five injured and wounded in the ATO zone in Donbas over the past day, Defense Ministry's spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said.
He said shelling near Krasnohorivka (Mariupol sector) by militants on Thursday morning killed four servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and injured three others. In addition, another military man was killed in the Donetsk sector.
"Today, at 4:00 the Russian occupation forces opened fire from mortars, artillery, tanks and Grad-P systems (Partizan) in the Krasnohorivka area. According to preliminary information, ATO forces suffered four casualties. Two servicemen were wounded [...] There was one more casualty as a result of the bombardment of Novhorodske, which is in the Donetsk sector," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday. He said preliminary information had been received about the deaths of three more servicemen and three more wounded soldiers in the ATO zone.
