Poroshenko: 25 top managers of Ukrainian defense enterprises removed from duties after inspections
Twenty-five top managers of Ukrainian defense enterprises belonging to state-run Ukroboronprom Concern have been removed from duties following inspections, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has announced.
"I would like to inform that following the inspections, 25 heads of state-run enterprises were suspended, and I would like to ask for the reward of [Ukroboronprom's] security chiefs," he said during his visit to Lviv armor vehicle factory on Friday, July 14.
Poroshenko thanked for the results of work and principled position of members of the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the General Prosecutor's Office.
He said that due to the work of Ukroboronprom's security department and the law enforcement agencies, the embezzlement of UAH 631 million at defense industry enterprises had been prevented. "Forty-one criminal cases have been opened based on materials of the security department. Many of them have been sent to courts. The theft of UAH 631 million has been prevented," he said.
