Militants fire on Ukrainian army positions 43 times over past day
Over the past day, the militants have carried out 43 shelling of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) area, which resulted in injuries to four Ukrainian servicemen, the press centre of the ATO headquarters has reported.
The heaviest shelling was reported in the Mariupol sector, where 19 truce breaches by the militants were recorded, the press centre said.
In the Donetsk sector, the heaviest fighting continues to be recorded on the southern outskirts of Avdiyivka, where militant forces used infantry weapons and anti-aircraft guns. Grenade launchers and small arms were fired at Ukrainian positions on the outskirts of Kamyanka, Zaitseve and Novoluhanske, the press centre said.
"As to the Luhansk sector, yesterday the situation was once again the 'hottest' near the Bakhmut motorway," the press centre said. The militants shelled Ukrainian army positions in the vicinity of Stanytsia Luhanska, Novozvanivka, Zhovte, Aidar and Novo-Oleksandrivka without using artillery weapons, it said.
