Kyiv reports 50 militant attacks in Donbas in past 24 hours
The headquarters of the Ukrainian anti-terrorist operation in Donbas said on Facebook has said the Ukrainian army positions came under 52 attacks on Tuesday; one serviceman was killed and seven were wounded.
There were 22 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in the Mariupol sector. Army strongholds came under attack of 120mm mortars near Chermalyk, 82mm mortars near Vodiane, and grenade launchers and small arms near Talakivka, Lebedynske, Hnutove, Berezove and Pavlopil. Anti-aircraft guns, infantry combat vehicle weapons and sniper rifles were also engaged in the hostilities. A number of homes and infrastructures were destroyed in a residential area of Olhynka, the staff said.
The hostilities intensified in the Donetsk sector, especially in the suburbs of Avdiyivka and in the Svitlodarsk bulge area, after dark, the staff said. Ukrainian army strongholds came under fire of 120mm and 82mm mortars, infantry combat vehicle armaments, grenade launchers, and small arms of various calibers near Avdiyivka, Kamianka and Luhanske, the staff said.
A woman sustained a shin wound in Avdiyivka. She was given aid on the spot and refused to go to hospital, the staff said.
Militants shelled Ukrainian army strongholds near Novotoshkivske in the Luhansk sector, using 120mm and 82mm mortars; 82mm mortars were fired near Krymske, Novooleksandrivka and Schastia, and grenade launchers and small arms were used near Donets, Stanytsia Luhanska, Troitske and Lobacheve, the staff said.
