Lithuania will support Ukraine in its battle against aggression
Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has said her country will continue to support Ukraine in its battle for territorial integrity and freedom.
"I believe assistance from people is much more important than help from politicians. My responsibility is to send you all the love and respect from simple people for fighting for your country," she said during a meeting with Ukrainian soldiers from the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) on Friday in Kharkiv.
According to Grybauskaite, Ukraine is fighting not only for its own freedom, but for the freedom of all Europe. "Therefore, assisting you is our obligation," she said.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, in turn, thanked the Lithuanian president for assistance. He said 153 wounded Ukrainian soldiers had been treated in Lithuanian hospitals.
