Groysman: share of light industry in Ukraine's GDP could grow
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has stated the share of light industry in Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) could rise from 1% to at least 2%.
"The share of light industry in the country's GDP is a little more than 1%, but I think that the potential for growth is exactly the same. Thus, the figure could reach several percent," Groysman said during a working trip to Chernihiv.
"But I emphasize that it is very important: it is a high added value," he added.
Groysman noted an important issue is also the need to increase wages in this sector, as well as stimulate both exports of goods and the increase of their sales in the domestic market.
