Ex-Duma deputy Voronenkov's killer identified, he is Ukrainian citizen
The killer of former Russian State Duma deputy Denis Voronenkov has been identified, Ukrainian Interior Ministry spokesman Artem Shevchenko said.
"His identity has been established, he is a citizen of Ukraine," he told Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.
Shevchenko did not name the killer.
As reported, Voronenkov was shot dead in central Kyiv on Thursday. The killer was wounded by the ex-deputy's security guard and died later in hospital.
The Kyiv-based Obozrevatel.ua (Observer) news portal said referring to its sources that Voronenkov's killer was on the wanted list. "The killer was born in 1988. He was wanted by Dnipro law enforcement officers for committing crimes under Articles 205 and 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sham business and legalization of proceeds from crime)," the Observer reported.
