Trump appreciates Germany, France's efforts in resolving conflict in Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump high appreciated the efforts of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande in the process of resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

"I also appreciate Chancellor Merkel’s leadership, along with the French President, to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, where we ideally seek a peaceful solution," Trump said at a joint press conference with Merkel.

"We need to come to a solution of this problem. There has to be a safe and secure solution for Ukraine, but the relationship with Russia has to be improved, as well, once the situation there on the ground is clarified," Merkel said at the press conference.
