Kremlin not considering scenarios of DPR, LPR integration into Russia - Peskov
The Kremlin is not considering any scenario implying the integration of the self-proclaimed Donetsk (DPR) and Luhansk (LPR) People's Republics into Russia, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"No such written scenarios exist," Peskov told reporters on Friday.
"You know that different discussions are under way. You know the sentiments that have been articulated by representatives of Donbas more than once. But there are no written scenarios concerning this matter," he said.
That is exactly why Russia is "closely watching how the country [Ukraine] is deliberately rejecting its huge region," he said.
"We do not see any eventual deliberations as possible in this context. Russia has always been interested in having a united, predictable and prosperous Ukraine near its borders, but, regrettably, the country is still far from it," he said.
