Lutsenko confirms receipt of letter from Russian PGO about Yanukovych interrogation

Ukraine's head of the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) Yuriy Lutsenko has confirmed receipt of a letter from the Russian side in which questioning of ex Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Russian territory by Ukrainian investigators is discussed.

"A letter has arrived from prosecutors of the Russian Federation," Lutsenko said on his Facebook page and posted a photocopy of the document.

The letter from the Russian prosecutor's office says "any declaration of Yanukovych concerning his request to use the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine has not been received and will not be considered."

"What should we do with the speech in the United Nations Security Council about this letter [in which Yanukovych asked for Russia to intervene military during early 2014]? What should we do with the speech of Mr. Klishas of the Russian Federation Council, where he speaks about Yanukovych's written request to the Federation Council," Lutsenko said, adding that Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin during his televised appearances from Novo-Ogarevo (Russia) several times mentioned Yanukovych's written request to Russia to intervene militarily in eastern Ukraine.
