Poroshenko: I did not have goal to become president, but I went to defend Ukraine without hesitation
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that he did not have a goal of becoming the president of Ukraine.
"I can say that you have a better chance because I had no medal in Paris. But I am not sure whether you should set a goal of becoming the President at all costs. I can tell you frankly that I didn’t have such a goal," the president told pupil of Kharkiv school Heorhiy Artsybashev who received the bronze medal in the International Championship of Mathematics and Logic Games in Paris, France in 2016.
Poroshenko also said that he was making every possible effort to make Ukraine better.
"I was building plants, factories, creating jobs and pretty big budget revenues, trying to reform the country in parliament. And when it needed defense, I went to defend it without hesitation and I didn’t think about what it will bring me. The first priority for me was how I can be useful for the country," he said.
