Avakov requests powers, orders of anti-terrorist center, government for lifting Donbas coal blockade
Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov encourages the Anti-Terrorist Centre (ATC) to take appropriate actions to lift the blockade in Donbas, which the government could perform.
"I appeal to the people's deputies: colleagues, it serves no purpose in sitting out, 'let's take a law that every citizen of Ukraine has the right to block the railway track.' Would you like to have this law? There isn't such a law and won't be. Then let's abide by the laws that we have and let's give the powers of law enforcement agencies to restore the situation there. I'd like to ask the leaders of the ATC to weigh all the relevant decisions of the antiterrorist center, which oversees all military operations in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone, take an appropriate decision and we will ensure this solution," Avakov said during a meeting of Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman with the representatives of the steel industry in Kyiv on Tuesday.
