Klimkin to participate in 34th session of UN Council on Human Rights
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin will attend the 34th session of the UN Council on Human Rights on February 27-28.
According to the information published on the Foreign Ministry's website on Monday, Klimkin's public speaking in the framework of the high-level segment is planned for the second half of the day on February 28.
In addition, upon an initiative of Ukraine, the event titled "The situation of human rights in Crimea" in the framework of a segment's work will take place, co-organizers of which are also Lithuania and Latvia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the event is intended to draw attention to the problem of the occupation of Crimea and the need for decisive actions of the international community on the issue of forcing Russia to fulfill UN General Assembly resolution 71/205 titled "Situation of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (Ukraine)."
The Foreign Ministry also said that Klimkin is also scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers and senior officials from the UN system.
