Deposit Guarantee Fund starts liquidation of Platinum Bank
The Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund on February 24, 2017 began the liquidation of Platinum Bank (Kyiv).
According to the website of the fund, the liquidation procedure will last two years until February 23, 2019 inclusive.
Yuriy Irkliyenko has been appointed liquidator for the corresponding period.
As reported, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) by decision No. 95-RSh dated February 23 approved the fund's proposal to revoke the banking license and liquidate the bank.
The NBU board on January 10, 2017 declared Platinum Bank insolvent because as of January 1 the bank had not reached the positive value of capital.
According to the central bank, as of January 10, 2017 the owners of a substantial stake in Platinum Bank, irrespective of formal ownership, but taking into account significant impact on the management and activities of the bank, were Borys Kaufman and Israeli citizen Gregory Gurtovoy.
