Ukraine refuses mobilization, retains military conscription – Poroshenko
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that Ukraine retains military conscription, having refused to mobilize at the same time.
"The strong operational reserve of the first priority was formed last year due to personnel who received combat experience and is demobilized now, but it is well motivated, highly professional and patriotic. There are more than 130,000 people. At the same time we maintain the military conscription," the president said, speaking at the operational meeting of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kyiv on Wednesday.
